With high speed internet available to potential students of all economic levels, schools are opting to implement online classes into their traditional teaching curriculum. As a result, our society is divided in two different ways of thinking on the education. Some believe the modern method is better than the traditional method of teaching. Personally, I believe both methods should balance one another instead of attempting to substitute one another; this way their purpose of educating will be far more successful.

Online education, also called long distant learning, can be defined as a new method of learning through a computer network. This modern way of teaching gives students an opportunity to take classes online. Bill Gates…show more content…

According to Barbara Means, the study’s lead author and an educational psychologist at SRI International, online education ultimate goal, is to provide learning experiences that are more tailored to individual students than is possible in classrooms. That enables more “learning by doing,” which many students find more engaging and useful.

However, advocates of classroom learning believe the online method isolates the students from one another as well as their professor minimizing the overall value of taking the course. They also claim that students learn better when working together with their instructor and their fellow classmates. Online classes versus conventional classes

Have you ever taken an online class? Many people are choosing online classes because of the benefits it offers. However, a traditional class still giving you a lot of opportunities that any online class will give. there are a lot of differences between an online class and a traditional class.

Online classes are a fantastic possibility for those who cannot travel to college. In addition, online classes are wonderful for people with disabilities ro diseases such as dyslexia. It's also a good option for women with children that can't spend a lot of time traveling and being in a traditional class. Even though people connecting to a computer can't know other students' ideas ro share their ideas,at least they can contact their professor and ask questions. Also they have the benefit of stopping and rewining the lecture when they do not understand something. For example, my friend Gisselle was taking an online class, and she didn't understand a concept, so she stopped the lesson, took a break and then sit down again. It was how she could get it. Online classes can be awesome, but traditional classes also have their good points.

Many colleges and universities have a campus. If for some reason the students can't travel every day to the college, they have the choice of staying on the campus for a while and not spending money on gasoline. Even though campuses are a little expensive, it's a good option for young people that do not have a lot of responsibilities with family or jobs. Furthermore, in a conventional class people cna share their thought, get ideas from other students and be actively involved in the class. In a face-to-face class students have special attention from the instructor. For instance, when I started ESLW-04 in September, the first thing I did was telling the professor my weakness in that material and that I needed special help with it. So she helped me, and I improved.

o conclude, although online classes and traditional classes have a lot of differences, they have something in common. Both of them are for peoplel that really want to study, want to have a better future and are focus on their goals. Being a good student is not easy, but it is the beginning for those who want a wonderful proffesional.
